Medicit (Co-Founder & Product Lead)

Context & Goal

I founded Medicit to build the “Doctolib of India” - a seamless platform for booking hospital, lab, and doctor appointments; managing e-prescriptions; and gamifying healthy habits to drive preventive care.

Challenge

Fragmented healthcare access and low digital adoption meant even an MVP needed strong provider buy-in and a crystal-clear value proposition before public launch.

Approach
  • User Empathy & Research: Conducted field studies and patient interviews in urban and tier-2 cities to map care journeys and digital pain points

  • Lean MVP Development: Rapidly built core modules: appointment booking and e-prescriptions, validating workflows through closed-beta testing with a select provider network

  • Provider Partnerships: Secured early commitments from hospitals, labs, and clinics via flexible integration APIs and tailored revenue-share agreements

  • Gamification Prototype: Designed a simple points system for daily health tasks to showcase engagement potential

Impact
  • Early Acquisition: Acquired at MVP stage in mid-2021 by a leading South India medical-lab chain underscoring strong product-market fit and strategic value

  • Validated core workflows with 5 pilot providers and 1,000+ test bookings pre-launch

  • Established integration framework now powering 200+ facilities under the acquirer’s umbrella

Founder Reflection

“Securing an acquisition before full launch taught me that nailing the core user experience and building strategic partnerships early can drive exponential value - fast.”
